Happy Friday people! What better way to celebrate the start of another quarantine-laden weekend of self-isolation, than by having a well-deserved drink to enjoy the solitude, right?
Right?
Hello?
Anyway, today’s drink is gonna be a Jack & Coke. It’s got a different name depending on where you’re geographically located, but the ingredients are always the same. It’s one of my favourite cocktails, that I think everyone should know how to make.
Now, a Jack & Coke may seem like a simple, unsophisticated drink to some people, but there are a few ways to make it. I’m only writing about my two favourite methods in this article.
With all this prattling out of the way, here’s how to make it.
Jack & Coke (Pro Version)
This version makes the taste of Jack Daniel’s the first thing that hits you. It’s a strong mix, but not too strong. This is the version recommended by the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, and you’ll know why after you taste it.
- 2 ounces Jack Daniel’s
- 6 ounces Coca-Cola
Jack & Coke (Strong Version)
This one is the way I usually make mine. It has a nice, caramel-ish taste to it.
- 2 ounces Jack Daniel’s
- 2 ounces Coca-Cola
How to Make It
No matter which version you choose, you’re going to fill a tall or Old Fashioned glass with ice, then pour in the Jack Daniel’s, then gently pour in the Coke. Don’t garnish with anything.
If you’re interested, here are the Old Fashioned glasses I use.
Diet Coke and Jack
Okay, there are some weirdos out there that prefer their Jack and Coke with Diet Coke. No clue why, though. It literally has the word DIE in its name, and tates like it’s killing you slowly.
But these are MY thoughts on the matter, and you should drink it with whatever type of cola you want, whatever tastes good to you. I’m still gonna think you’re a bloody weirdo, but I’m sure you knew that.
Well, that’s all from me. If you all like this article, I’ll probably do more of them. Do you like Jack & Coke? If not, what DO you drink? Let me know in the comments.
Have you tried George Dickel? I find it has a richer flavor than Jack Daniel’s. And for an added twist, try Cherry Coke rather than regular Coke. Cheers!
George Dickel? George and me ain’t that close.😂
I’m kidding, but no, I haven’t. I’ll have to give it a go. And thanks for suggesting Cherry Coke. I never thought of it, to be honest!
